Back in the game...

This title has two meanings although one meaning is more valid than the other. The first meaning is I'm back blogging after a few days as I was unable to blog due to some unexpected family problems. However thats getting a bit better now so I'm back and ready for some blogging. The second meaning is that I'm playing football again and that I am absolutely buzzing for it.

I've been playing football all my life probably, and started competitive football at the age of 7 for a team called Old Harlow Youth U8s. I must have spent about 4/5 years there, being captain for the majority of that time until someone's dad became manager and you know that bias opinion that your son is the best so should be captain. I think I left soon after that. Then played for a couple of other teams up until about 13 when I stopped for a season or two, no idea why. I probably couldnt get into a team or my parents couldnt afford to pay the amount of money I needed to play for clubs (signing on fees and subs each week). Anyway by the time I was 14/15 I joined a new club with a few friends at school called Harlow Lions, the season I joined, we won the league by quite a bit I think or it was really close, either way it was a good season to play, anyway the season after we won the league again which was a good time to be playing football for me. See I had never won a league until that point and I haven't now come to think of it. I had been in 4 cup finals before this although we ended up losing all 4 of them. Not a good record aye.

After this, my dad became the secretary of Harlow Town FC and I soon joined the U18's. I suppose my dad got me the place, but I still feel that I had to be good enough seeing as I stayed in the team and became captain. Although I did very much improve during that season and even more in the next season. I became a regular for Harlow Reserve team and joined Bishop Stortford U18s in which I ended up become captain for both too. I dont know why I keep becoming captain of teams but I like it, I always look to be the captain of a team now, maybe its because I've got such a loud voice its hard not to make me captain. I came on leaps and bounds that season, playing with some very good players in the reserves that dropped down from the first team if there was competition for places or players needing fitness. The season after which was last season I believe I had a drop in form, although I was injured through most of it, but I've been determined to get it back and show my true form again.

So now it brings me to this season, I started out at a team called Wodson Park during pre season however they pissed me about a bit so I left and havent played since, and I've moved to uni so I've been getting settled in and after finding out that I couldnt play for the uni team due to lectures I looked to the local teams around here. So I've been training with Hatfield Town FC for the past two weeks and I found out tonight that they wanted to sign me on. Which is great so I've put pen to paper on a £50,000 a week one year contract. I wished. No but I've signed on and they have asked me to play in the reserves for Saturday. Not the first team yet, I know but considering I haven't played a proper game since August, I'm happy. I look to soon be in the first team and getting some regular games under my belt to get my form back and try for bigger clubs or if not help get Hatfield up the leagues. I have four years in Hatfield, due to uni so I could possibly do it, just not this season.

Anyway that's enough for tonight or this morning I should say.
