So, for my second blog I have decided to talk about me being at university, the University of Hertfordshire in fact. I've now been here for about 8 weeks, so far its been great, I've moved away from home (not saying that's the great thing) but I'm now becoming an independent man living on my own and fending for myself, although not fully independent, seeing as my dad sent a couple of money packages over already. Nevertheless, I'm still buying all my own shopping, cooking my own food and soon, hopefully, will be getting a job. I have a job interview on Friday 16th for McDonald's in Hatfield, but the interview is in Stevenage! I've got to go all the way to Stevenage for a 20 minute interview. Oh well, its better than no interview, to be honest I'm not nervous, I'm looking forward to it, and am confident that I will do well. If not then, well that's life and I'll just look elsewhere for a bit of extra money.
Anyway, back to my time at university, I am living in Watton Hall Flat 8, in which all of my flat mates are great, we all get on, and the banter is incredible. Its good to be living with a group of people who give banter all the time, it just makes the whole experience of living in halls even better. See at this time of year, if I was living at home I would be stuck in my bedroom playing Xbox all night and not going out or socialising, mainly because it would be too cold (I hate the cold for too long). Now all I want to do is socialise and get out of my room with a good group of people. At the moment the us lads, Jermaine, Newton, Gian and me are playing a bit of Nazi Zombies in the kitchen, well I'm not obviously, I'm writing this blog. My course is amazing too, everybody thinks that Accounting is a bit of a boring job, but I can't disagree more, it is so interesting that it motivates me to work harder and enjoy the course and career I am getting into. There is a lot of things that you have to learn but its nothing too hard or boring. Well at least not to me it isn't, but I like numbers and business sense.
Its going to be a bit of a male run flat this weekend because all of the girls except one has gone home for the weekend so us lads are running the shop, seeing as we don't normally run things, we are all sort of 'under the thumb', you could say. So, yeah like most lads, we slept in til 3 this afternoon and barely saw any sunlight. However, we watched some Soccer Saturday and after decided to go to the local Asda to get some things, well I didn't get anything, I just with them. We left at about half 6 to go to Asda, probably got there about 20 minutes later, they didn't start their actual shopping until about half 7 as we were all gathered around the game and DVD section looking and talking about the games and DVDs. It was good to actually stand there and chat to people who actual have played or watched the same things or have the same interest in things like I do. My girlfriend, Sophie, has no interest in movies or anything like that, its like she has lived under a rock her whole life, I try to say to her 'have you seen this film' to reference an event that's just happened in my life that is like a film or tv show I've seen before. She hasn't seen most of the stuff I try to say, however that ain't her fault if she doesn't watch many films, its just not her primary interests I suppose and I ain't going to complain about it. Sophie is currently in Switzerland seeing her uncle at the moment, lucky I say, seeing as he paid for her to go out there to visit. She's coming back tomorrow and it'll be good to see her again and she's bought me some Swiss chocolate back which I'm looking forward to eating.
Anyway that's enough for tonight I suppose, Oh just a thank you to all the people that are reading the blog, I had 23 people see my first post. Thanks for taking the time to view it and hope you come back even more to be even more nosier (not sure if that's even a word) in to my life.
Lots of love,
Jim
