The X Factor and Children's Television

This blog has literally just come to mind in the space of an hour. And, obviously is about the much talked about X Factor with the addition of my view on children's television. Basically, Monday's are the only day of the week where I watch daytime television. Mainly because I have a lecture from 9-10 and nothign else for the rest of the day so instead of going back to sleep I'll watch tv. This morning, This Morning is on itv like every weekday and has started off with X Factor and the interview of Rylan, the recent eliminated contestant.

See I'm not bothered about who wins or who goes from the show, see, I barely watch the show after the auditions because it has become widely known that most of the contestants are scouted which doesnt give anyone else much chance. As well as being known that the judges are told who to save regardless on talent. Just take Rylan for example, I personally enjoyed him being on the X Factor, but he never should have survived 8 weeks when he shouldnt have even been there in the first place if based on talent. I think he is great, but it just shows how appalling the show is now, people arent voting based on the talent of their voices, they are voting to piss other people off. I find it hilarious because all I see on a Sunday night when the results come in is my Facebook news feed cluttered with people getting really angry and annoyed about the show. What's the point in getting that upset about a TV show? Just watch some proper TV or do something different. Or if you want, just continue to watch it, get angry, feel the need to share it with your Facebook friends and make me laugh. I dont care either way.

Moving on to children's television, as a kid, I mean when I was much younger (some old fogies will say I'm still a kid even though I'm legally classed as an adult) I thought that the tv then was amazing all the shows, Ed, Edd and Eddy, Cow and Chicken, Teletubbies, Tweenies, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Powerpuff Girls, Pokemon, Dragonball Z I loved with a passion. There are even more shows but that would take too long to list. Anyway, there are now shows that I've seen that I really cant understand to be any sort of entertaining for anyone, they just look so poor and all the American shows such as The Suite Life of Zac and Cody, are extremely cringy. It could be that I've grown up and it doesnt appeal to me but anything like that just isnt entertaining and not funny.

I want to end with a recognition of the deaths from the floods in Britain recently, needless deaths from Mother Nature, my thoughts are with the families.
Anyway speak to you lot soon.
Jim
