All about football!

As the title suggests, this is all about football today. Basically its too long for a facebook status so a blog is needed.

So starting with the most talked about topic in football at the moment is the famous Jack Wilshere's comments about 'only English players can play for England'. Now I agree with him to a degree but like everyone else, who jumped on the bandwagon to quickly slag him off, say that a lot of our English sportspersons are already joint nationalities or born elsewhere, past and present. Which is true no doubt, for example our recent Ashes winning cricket team had 4 South African born players in it but they all wore the 3 Lions with immense pride and did our country proud this summer. Now back to backing old Jack up, dont worry geez, I have your back. He is right in what he is saying, but I think its been put in the wrong context, although he says he isnt talking about Januzaj, the topic was obviously about this young lad. Adnan Januzaj isnt even eligible to play for England for another 5 years yet we are talking about keeping him close for England, he is Albanian/Kosovian, not English, he shouldnt play for us, despite his ability and potential. Simple as that. Of course we are grateful and proud for everyone who has previously or currently play for England, despite where they were born or grew up, as they were eligible to play for England on an international stage of sport. However, they were all eligible for England, in my eyes this Januzaj fellow is not English.

Anyway, it got me thinking about who I could play for if I was ever lucky or good enough to play at an international stage, although its pretty simple for me, either England or Northern Ireland. But it got me thinking about when I have children and who I end up having kids with, who they could end up playing for, it has been a weird thought process but it could end up being any nation really! Preferably England though as they will be good enough as Im going to train them like the reports of Chinese training for the Olympics. Just a little joke there for you. Although I hope my kids will be as mad about football as I am and end up playing better standards of football than I do, although its not that hard for them I would say.

On another hot topic in the English footballing world is everybodies negative attitude to the next World Cup in Brazil next year. Its disgraceful and cant put much confidence into the current batch of players at the moment. People like Greg Dyke and Glenn Hoddle saying forget about this world cup. That is the worst attitude I have ever seen from a nation like ours in regards to going into a World Cup! Personally I have great optimism for next years World Cup, with the new additions and the removal of older players recently I think England can do well, and we have the rest of the season for them to gel more at an international stage until this World Cup. I hope we win it as well as I wouldnt mind seeing that, I probably will be on a summer long bender and wearing nothing but England shirts for that whole summer, but also just to shove the negativity up those twats arses!

AND FINALLY, just been really happy with football lately as the mighty Orient are currently top of the table and unbeaten after playing 10 games, the best start to a season in our 130 year history. I am loving it! Finally I can start defending myself with conviction when people banter me about being a Leyton Orient fan. It is a very very good time to be a Leyton Orient fan and I can only hope that it lasts. I read an article on the Orient website today that our French midfielder laughed off talks about emulating Arsenal's 'Invincibles' season. It made me proud to be an Orient fan that anybody would even be thinking about an unbeaten season let alone talking about it! I hope it happens but come on, realistically I dont see it happening. As long as we get promoted or get to the playoffs I will be happy.

Anyway thats my views on the current topics in football, hope all its good on your end!
Over and out.
